ABOUT
Based in Mohkinstsis (Calgary), AB, Kaitlyn Seibold is a movement researcher, performer, choreographer, and educator with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance from Toronto Metropolitan University and a Master of Fine Arts from York University. Recognized for her exceptional choreographic talent, she was awarded the prestigious Lipson Family Endowment Award for her promise as an emerging choreographer.
Throughout her extensive professional training, Kaitlyn has collaborated with prominent choreographers such as Vicki St. Denys, Louis Laberge-Côté, Robert Glumbek, Matjash Mrozewski, Ryan Lee, Hanna Keil, Colleen Snell, Angela Blumberg, Josh Beamish, and Apolonia Velasquez, immersing herself in a variety of styles and artistic approaches
Currently, Kaitlyn teaches contemporary dance at Alberta Ballet’s professional division and performs with Project InTandem and Ballet Bodies YYC. With over 30 original works to her name, her choreography embodies a deep respect for classical technique and a nuanced understanding of lines, clarity, and movement quality. Her research delves into the fluid boundaries between physicalized theatre and contemporary movement, crafting experiences that challenge and engage audiences on both stage and screen. Kaitlyn’s work invites viewers to explore the emotional and physical intricacies of the human body, bringing depth and rigor to her creative explorations in both traditional and alternative performance spaces.
